Home from Houston – What an Experience!

Wow—what a ride! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was truly one for the books. We were incredibly busy—busier than we ever imagined—and we couldn’t be more thankful. We seriously have the best customers!

One major game-changer this year was moving to a new row. It completely shifted the energy for us in the best way. And to top it all off, we were honored to be awarded Grand Champion Booth Display – Commercial Small Division! What an absolute dream moment.

Getting ready for the show was a whirlwind. We had to build an entirely new booth display, and let me tell you—Roy and I had some lively work sessions. You can probably imagine how that went: he had one vision, I had another. (I wanted to reuse as much as we could; he thought we needed to build everything from scratch.) In the end, we worked through it—like we always do—and let me just say, my hubby is crazy talented when he wants to be. I feel so lucky to have someone who can bring our ideas to life with his own two hands. A lot of vendors don’t have that luxury, and I don’t take it for granted.

Houston is a tough stretch for everyone involved. It means long days and nights on the road, while the crew back home keeps the boutique running strong. Imagine an entire month in a house full of girls plus the booth 😅—it definitely keeps things interesting! I can't thank our team enough for all they do. They’re truly the backbone of this business.

One of the things that touched us most was seeing community members from back home make it a point to stop by our booth during the rodeo. They check in on us, ask if we need anything, and even volunteer to bring things back on their next trip. That kind of love and support reminds me that we must be doing something right.

Since opening our East Main location almost two years ago, life has thrown us some serious curveballs. But through it all, our town has surrounded us with open arms. I am forever grateful that we chose this little town to be Deadwood South Boutique & Company’s forever home.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you.

XOXO,

Misty
